How to cancel a subscription through PayPal
Many subscriptions billed through PayPal keep renewing even after you remove the app. You usually need to stop the recurring payment agreement inside PayPal.
Stop the PayPal recurring payment
- 1.Sign in to your PayPal account.
- 2.Open Settings or go to the Payments area.
- 3.Find Automatic payments or Manage automatic payments.
- 4.Select the merchant or subscription.
- 5.Turn off the recurring payment or remove PayPal as the payment method.
- 6.Save the confirmation screen for your records.
Then check the provider account
• Make sure the service itself shows canceled or non-renewing status.
• If the provider still lists the plan as active, contact support with the PayPal confirmation.
• Look for any separate annual plan or direct card billing inside the provider account.
Watch for edge cases
• Some services keep access through the end of the paid period even after autopay is turned off.
• Stopping the PayPal agreement does not always create a refund for the current cycle.
• If you used guest checkout instead of a saved PayPal agreement, support may need the transaction ID.
FAQ
Is removing PayPal from my wallet enough?
Not always. The safer move is opening the automatic payment entry for that merchant and turning off future charges there.
Do I need to contact the provider too?
Sometimes yes. If the provider account still shows an active renewal after PayPal is turned off, contact support and keep both confirmations.
What if the merchant name looks unfamiliar?
Some services bill under a parent company or payment processor name. Match the amount and timing against your subscription emails before canceling.
Rynlo does not cancel subscriptions for you. PayPal menus and merchant labels can change, so verify the recurring payment details before confirming anything.
